Inspection Setup
You can create an inspection form in Silverlining based on vehicle type for your drivers to complete. The form is made up of items that fit into groups, which together create a template:
- Template: The overall structure of the inspection, such as Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection.
- Groups: Categories of inspection items, such as Exterior, Under the Hood, and Tires.
- Items: Specific elements to be checked that may need service or repair, such as Tires Properly Inflated, Hoses Appear Okay, and Fire Extinguisher in Cab.
On the tablet, the form will appear as a list of items to check off, similar to the following figure.
To access the Inspection Setup screen, click Tablet ›› Inspection Setup. The Templates, Groups, and Items tabs will appear on the left.
These are as follows:
- Templates tab: Contains all the vehicle types and existing inspection templates; after you create a new inspection template, it will be accessible from here. To view a template's details, follow these steps:
- Expand the template type by clicking the plus sign on the left.
- Click the template name. Its properties and groups will appear on the right.
- Groups tab: Contains all the groupings of inspection items that you've already created. To view a group's details, click it. Its properties and items will appear on the right.
- Items tab: Contains all the individual items and subitems to be inspected that are on your current forms. To view an item's details, click it. Its properties and subitems (if any) will appear on the right.
To create a new inspection form, go to Creating an Inspection Template. Also see that help page for how to publish an inspection form.
